Support | Encouraging women in Northern Ontario with The Women's Social Entrepreneurship Program - WOSEN
Women’s outreach is at the heart of our approach, and is what motivated the launch of the WOSEN program, a series of four modules to introduce French-speaking women in Northern Ontario to social entrepreneurship. The program Et si on se lançait en entrepreneuriat social (Let’s get started in social entrepreneurship) is aimed at people who identify themselves as French-speaking women or non-binary, and is designed to raise their awareness of social enterprise creation, including idea development, mental preparation for entrepreneurship and exploration of their environment to determine whether there is a market for their business project. The objective of the program was to raise awareness of social entrepreneurship among Francophone women in Northern Ontario, to encourage and contribute a feminist approach to the service of all Francophone women wishing to start a business in Ontario, to provide answers to the questions women have about the feasibility and legitimacy of their entrepreneurial project, and to promote economic growth among Franco-Ontarian women.
